A Brown University student working on a Ph.D. in engineering hid in a campus lab for two hours following a campus alert about an active shooter, he told NBC affiliate @nbc10wjar in Providence.

Joseph Oduro, a teaching assistant at Brown University, was delivering his closing remarks for his class’s last review session before finals when he heard the sound of gunshots. Oduro tells CNN's Dana Bash about the moment the gunman entered his classroom.
